Six leading assistive technology specialists and special guest speakers are kicking off the 2019 DSA Roadshow tour with four new dates.
- - Cambridge, 14th February 2019
- - Exeter, 20th March 2019
- - Southampton, 2nd April 2019
- - Nottingham, 1st May 2019
We've got a fresh format for this year's roadshow to give everyone the opportunity to participate in extra training with each of the AT providers, ahead of the main line-up of workshops.
Join us and Claro Software (ClaroRead), Dolphin (Supernova), Nuance (Dragon), Medincle and Wyvern Business Systems (iView Learning, ergonomics and training provider) to hear the latest developments about our AT for the DSA market. Wyvern will introduce their new training platform, iView Learning, and bring along the latest ergonomic kit on offer to students.
We are delighted to welcome Catherine Best, Director of Pier Support (NMH) & Certified Emotional Wellbeing & Personal Crisis Specialist as our guest speaker in Cambridge. Catherine provides in-house training for DSA assessors, NMH and other frontline staff to support people, who are feeling overwhelmed due to situations such as financial problems, bereavement, study issues, or family difficulties such as divorce or separation, with an actionable programme. In her 45 minute workshop Catherine will share:
- - how to identify those who are dealing with a loss or personal crisis
- - what to say (and more importantly - what not to say)
- - the importance of ‘well-being’ knowledge for CPD purposes
- - how to support colleagues and students.
Training is free to attend and suitable for DSA assessors, advisors, AT trainers, AT specialists, centre managers and other professional roles in the field of student support.
