Notetalker is a member of the British Assistive Technology Association (BATA). The organisation provides a platform for us to keep in touch with other like-minded organisations and individuals who share an interest in Assistive Technology. BATA also represents members to government and seeks to improve the understanding of AT in the UK. If you have an interest in Assistive Technology and BATA's aims then then sign up to BATA’s mailing list.

Using Olympus recordings in Notetalker Edit

With so many students using Olympus digital voice recorders, we set to work to develop a way for students to import their recordings into Notetalker Edit. 

Any student using an Olympus recorder can now import their WMA (Windows Media Audio) files in Notetalker Edit. All of the digital tags will be transferred across, so any Olympus Index Marks will be turned into Notetalker Bookmarks.

PDF imports up and running

We’ve got some great news to share! PDF documents can now be imported into Notetalker Edit along with PowerPoint slides, images and video. Broadening the range of media that can be imported into Notetalker Edit supports students who prefer to use a rich mix of visual references in their notes. Some courses or lecturers may also provide a range of media for students' learning.

Spellchecking medical language has never been easier!

We think it’s worth sharing an update about Notetalker Edit’s spellchecker. The built-in function can be used with medical spellchecking software, Medincle. It is a DSA approved product and ideal for all students who are studying degrees related to healthcare. The medical spellchecker will save students time and boost productivity.
